FEMA EMI Independent Study courses online

 

Each of the following online courses are eligible for 1 hour of NYS Code Enforcement Official annual in-service credit.

IS-100.b - Introduction to Incident Command System, ICS-100

Students can review course materials by choosing any one of the options in the "Take This Course" box on the right-hand side of the page linked above.  Students must submit their final exam online to FEMA for each course to receive NYS CEO in-service credit. Please note that the student is enrolled in the course when they submit their final exam answers online through the FEMA website.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to receive in-service credit for these online courses the student must have FEMA send an official transcript directly to BSC: Once a student has taken one of the approved online course(s), submits their exam to FEMA and has received their certificate, the students must complete the Transcript Request to receive New York State CEO In-Service Credit. The transcript request form must be mailed or faxed to:

Transcript Request Form is available here.
Do not send transcript requests to BSC. BSC will only accept an official transcript from FEMA. Transcripts received from students or any third party will not be accepted. BSC will not accept certificates as verification for in-service credit. Courses taken prior to September 27, 2011 will not be accepted. Students may apply these online courses to NYS CEO in-service credit once every 3 years.
