Executive Summary of local government code enforcement and administration reports for calendar year 2009

 

The Codes Division is pleased to present its annual Executive Summary of local government code enforcement and administration reports for calendar year 2008.  In accordance with 19 NYCRR Part 1203, cities, villages, towns and counties that enforce the Uniform Code “shall annually submit to the Secretary of State….a report of its activities relative to administration and enforcement of the Uniform Code.”  The Executive Summary represents a compilation of reports submitted by 1044 NYS municipalities between January 1 and October 1, 2009.  This information will be used to establish overall the overall effectiveness by which local governments are meeting their obligation to enforce the Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code and State Energy Conservation Construction Code.  It will also be used to monitor regional trends in code enforcement and to target delivery of services, technical assistance and educational courses to communities and areas of the state where it is most needed.

Title 19NYCRR Part 1203, requires every city, village, town, and county, charged with administration and enforcement of the Uniform Code to annually submit a report of its activities to the Secretary of State. The information provided on this form is used to verify your municipality's compliance with the minimum standards for administration and enforcement of the Uniform Code contained in Part 1203. The information provided will also be used to develop education, outreach and support programs for municipalities and Code Enforcement Officials. Please complete this form electronically and email to the Division of Building Standards and Codes. E-mail this form to the Division of Building Standards and Codes no later than February 28th of the year following the reporting year.in order to be included on the list of reports received posted on our website. (example: Deadline for 2011 Reporting Year is Febuary 29, 2012)
