Technical Assistance on the Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code

Technical Assistance is a service provided by the BSC to code enforcement officials, design professionals, and the general public on the Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code (Uniform Code). BSC staff members providing technical assistance have a broad background in different disciplines including code enforcement and architecture, as well as civil, fire protection, mechanical, and structural engineering. Requests for technical assistance may be submitted through telephone calls, email, and faxes.

How Technical Assistance Services are Provided

If you are not a code enforcement official:
It's recommended that you contact the local code enforcement official.

If you are a code enforcement official or state agency personnel:
Contact the appropriate Regional office.

If you are a design professional or contractor:
It's recommended that you contact the local code enforcement official where the project or job is located.

NOTE: Please be aware that regional offices are not staffed by administrative personnel. If you call one of our regional offices, you should expect a voicemail answer. Please leave a message with your name, telephone number and a brief description of the reason for your call. As regional staff are primarily in the field providing services, it may be several days before your call is returned. Please be patient. Your call will be returned.
