Hundreds of municipalities across New York have benefitted from Department of State programs to advance local government efficiency, create sustainable communities, revitalize waterfronts, restore natural resources, protect and improve water quality and redevelop brownfields. These programs are now joined under the name Communities + Waterfronts, but we continue to build on the long track record of successes. From initial visions and strategic planning, to project funding, training and execution, we’ve partnered with local governments and community organizations to plot out and implement improvement projects
