The Department of State’s Division of Corporations offers optional expedited service for the processing of documents, obtaining copies of documents and the issuance of certificates under seal (certificates of good standing). For an additional fee the Division of Corporations will process a request for services within the following time frames:
The fee for expedited processing must be separate from the fee to file the document or other service requested. The expedited processing fees are non-refundable. Please see Payment for Expedited Processing Service below for further information.
Requests for services on a non-expedited basis, including the filing of documents, are usually completed within seven business days, excluding mailing time.
Payment for Expedited Processing Service
The additional, non-refundable fee for expedited processing service must be paid by a separate check or money order or indicated in the appropriate space on the Credit Card/Debit Card Authorization Form. The Division of Corporations accepts MasterCard, Visa and American Express for the payment of fees. To pay for a fee using your credit card or debit card, simply complete and sign the Credit Card/Debit Card Authorization Form and submit it to the Division of Corporations with your request for service. The Credit Card/Debit Card Authorization Form submitted with any request for services must specifically indicate the level of expedited service requested.
Requests Submitted by Mail/Overnight Courier
The envelope bearing documents for filing and other requests for expedited processing services must be marked with the notation "Expedited Processing" on the envelope.
Processing Your Request
The time for processing your request begins when the request is received by the appropriate unit of the Division of Corporations.
For documents submitted for filing, such documents are considered processed when they are either filed or rejected as deficient. The fee for expedited processing is charged to the filer regardless of whether or not the document is accepted for filing. Filing receipts will be mailed by first-class mail by the United States Postal Service two business days after the date of filing. Copies of documents and Certificates under Seal are mailed by first-class mail by the United States Postal Service within the time frame of the expedited processing service requested. We do not provide these documents by fax. You may request that your receipt or other document be returned to you by overnight delivery service, by including your account number with the service provider, enclosing a prepaid shipping label or including a request to charge your credit card with the shipper for these charges. The Division is unable to utilize UPS.
In the case of a deficient document submitted via mail with a check, money order or Credit Card/Debit Card Authorization Form, the Department of State will retain the fee for the expedited processing service requested. A letter noting the deficiencies will be sent to the filer within the time frame of the expedited processing requested. Please note that the letter noting the deficiencies will be returned by first-class mail by the United States Postal Service.
In the case of a deficient document submitted via fax with a Credit Card/Debit Card Authorization Form, your account will be debited the monies for the level of expedited processing requested. A letter noting the deficiencies will be faxed to the filer within the time frame of the expediting processing service requested. If, after several unsuccessful attempts, we are unable to contact the filer at the fax number provided, the letter noting the deficiencies will be returned by first-class mail by the United States Postal Service.
When resubmitting a corrected document for filing, if you desire to again have your document processed under the expedited processing service, an additional, non-refundable, expedited processing fee must be paid.
