Important Filing Requirements
ALBANY, N.Y. (April 2, 2007) -- Effective April 2, 2007 The New York State Department of State's Division of Corporations recently implemented the use of imaging technology to make a permanent record of documents filed.

In order to facilitate document scanning, please note the following effective Monday, April 2, 2007:

  1. The Division of Corporations will only accept documents, including backers, on white paper. Colored paper is not acceptable.
  2. All documents submitted for filing, including the backer, must be on 8½ x 11 paper.
  3. The Division of Corporations will only accept single-sided documents. Double-sided documents are not acceptable.
  4. All documents, including signatures, should be prepared using black ink only. Also, please avoid small or light type, outline or condensed fonts. The Department recommends that a Times New Roman font size of 10 or larger be used.
