Important Filing Requirements
ALBANY, N.Y. (April 2, 2007) -- Effective April 2, 2007
The New York State Department of State's Division of Corporations recently implemented the use of imaging technology to make a permanent record of documents filed.
In order to facilitate document scanning, please note the following effective Monday, April 2, 2007:
- The Division of Corporations will only accept documents, including backers, on white paper. Colored paper is not acceptable.
- All documents submitted for filing, including the backer, must be on 8½ x 11 paper.
- The Division of Corporations will only accept single-sided documents. Double-sided documents are not acceptable.
- All documents, including signatures, should be prepared using black ink only. Also, please avoid small or light type, outline or condensed fonts. The Department recommends that a Times New Roman font size of 10 or larger be used.
