Proposal to amend the regulation establishing training requirements for code enforcement personnel. The Division of Building Standards and Codes is pleased to announce that a proposal that would amend the regulation establishing training requirements for code enforcement personnel responsible for administering and enforcing the State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code (Uniform Code) and State Energy Conservation Construction Code (Energy Code) and the requirements for instructors who provide such training. Notice of Rule in Development
Notice of Rule in Development - The Department of State is currently developing a rule that would amend Uniform Code by adding provisions that would allow a building to be used on a temporary basis for a use not consistent with the building’s existing occupancy classification, provided that the building satisfies certain safety-related requirements. Although workbooks can no longer be provided to students attending Basic Training courses, they are available for downloading and printing. It is recommended that students print the appropriate workbook prior to attending their course. Read More »
For the purposes of applying the 2010 Code Books in this State, the 2010 Code Books are deemed to be amended in the manner specified in the NYCRR. This Memorandum summarizes the amendments to the 2010 Code Books that have been made by the NYCRR.
