Welcome to the New York State Department of State eAccessNY online tutorial.

To Create your eAccessNY account, First visit the New York State Department of State homepage at www-dot-d-o-s -dot-state-dot-N-Y-dot-u-s.

This CREATE ACCOUNT feature is to be used if you have never been licensed and have not scheduled an exam through eAccessNY.
As the mouse moves: 
From the Department of State Homepage, Press on the eAccessNY link.

Press "Register" under Option 2, Create my account.
Now Complete the eAccessNY online form by providing:

Your Name,
your Date of Birth,
and your E-mail Address.

Your email address will become your eAccessNY account User ID and will also be used for electronic correspondence from the Department of State.

your Mailing Address, 
If you also have a PO Box, you should provide it in Additional Line 1.
and now, your Phone Number.

As a security feature to protect your online account information and in case you forget your password, please select one of the following.

Select a predefined security question, or if you want, you may write in your own question.
Provide your Secret Answer and remember to store this information securely.
As an additional security feature, type the word from the picture below as requested. If the word displayed below the secret answer field is not legible enough, you can press the refresh Picture button to enter in the word without losing the information already entered in the eAccessNY form. 
Finally, don't forget to enter in your nine-digit New York State Driver's License Number or Non-Driver's License number that is printed on your license. 

Press on the Preview button to continue.

Review your information and don't forget to store your secret question and answer information in a secure location. 

If you find any of the information in error, press  the change button, and that will bring you back to the create account form. 

After reviewing your information, press  the save button. If you have filled out all of your information correctly, this will bring you to a Registration Successful Screen.  

An email with a temporary password and instructions has been generated and will be sent to your registered email address. 

Access your email account. You should receive an email from eAccessNY within 15 minutes of creating your account. Be sure that your email program did not flag the eAccessNY email as Spam or Junk mail. and automatically move it to your spam or junk mail folder.

Copy the temporary password and Press the link in the email to access the Public Services Main menu page in eAccessNY. 

Enter  your USER ID, which is the email address you provided when you created your account.  

Enter in your temporary password you received from the email

Press LogOn

When you first logon to eAccessNY, you will be asked to change your temporary password. Follow the instructions to create your own password and remember to store your password securely. 

Congratulations! You are now registered with eAccessNY and may apply to take an exam.
