Brownfield Opportunity Areas Program New York State Community Seminar Series

The New York State Community Seminar Series is a collaboration between the New York State Department of State Division of Coastal Resources, the Department of Environmental Conservation, and the Center for Community Design Research at the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. The Community Seminar Series, presents the most up to date information, techniques, and quidance for a strategic community planning process that results in a Brownfield Opportunity Area designation. While developed for recipients for grant awards throught the BOA program, much of the information is relavent for all community design and planning projects.
In digital format the Seminars are represented by a series of presentations supported by Notebooks, containing case studies and hands-on activities to build understanding of the issues, processes, and expected outcomes associated with specific program work plans
Sessions focus on inspiring and empowering local leadership, energizing advisory committees, ensuring quality products, and soliciting public input.
This seminars are targeted toward local
leadership, including local government officials and their representatives, civic and business leaders, community consultants, advisory committee members, and nonprofit organization leaders.
