Department of State to Hold Public Meeting on December 7 on Fire Prevention and Building Codes
Council will consider changes to the Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code
ALBANY - The New York Department of State will hold a public meeting of the Fire Prevention and Building Code Council on Wednesday, December 7, at 10:00 a.m. The meeting will take place at One Commerce Plaza in Albany and via video teleconference at 123 William Street in New York City.The public has the right to attend at either location.
The Council is convening to consider changes to the Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code. Agenda items include the proposed adoption of the 2011 version of the National Electric Code (NEC) and the proposed adoption of an amendment to the NEC relating to grounding and bonding for hot tubs and spas. Another proposed code change is the inclusion of a table in the Residential Code of New York State that is related to masonry veneers. The Council also will propose two new rule makings, one regarding the latch location for pool barriers and another relating to the temporary use of agricultural buildings for commercial use.
