Department of State to Host Town Hall Meeting in Hamburg

Hamburg - The Department of State will host a regional town hall event on Thursday, October 27th at the Hamburg Town Hall. This will be the third in a series of town halls that the Department is conducting across the state. The forum is designed to provide an overview of how municipalities can partner with the Department to create thriving and sustainable communities.

The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Deputy Secretary of State Dierdre “Dede” Scozzafava providing an overview of the types of assistance the Department can provide to municipal governments. This includes grant opportunities aimed at increasing government efficiency and streamlining costs. Deputy Secretary Scozzafava’s remarks will be followed by an open discussion with local leaders and citizens on improving regional economies and a question and answer session about DOS programs. The meetings are part of Governor Andrew Cuomo’s commitment to ensuring that state programs reflect local and regional needs.
