Some approved In-service Code training programs are available online. These courses are approved by DBSC.
Online training is recognized as an acceptable format and means of obtaining up to 24 hours of New York State Code Enforcement In-service Training annually.

The 2015 Training Regulations now require at least 3 hours of approved training in the following topics:
• Topic 1 - Code Enforcement and Administration
• Topic 2 - Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code
• Topic 3 - Energy Conservation Construction Code
Although many courses may be available from the listed providers, only those programs specifically listed on this webpage have been pre-approved. Unapproved online classes can still be used toward Professional Development Electives.

For calendar year 2018, you must take online courses with a course code that begins with “NY18.” Please make sure to start and finish the course in the same calendar year. Do not restart courses from your Transcript from a previous calendar year. You will not get in-service credit for course codes that do not match the current calendar year.
