Payment for Expedited Processing Service
The additional, non-refundable fee for expedited processing service must be paid by a separate check or money order or indicated in the appropriate space on the Credit Card/Debit Card Authorization Form. The Division of Corporations accepts MasterCard, Visa and American Express for the payment of fees. To pay for a fee using your credit card or debit card, simply complete and sign the Credit Card/Debit Card Authorization Form and submit it to the Division of Corporations with your request for service. The Credit Card/Debit Card Authorization Form submitted with any request for services must specifically indicate the level of expedited service requested.
Requests Submitted by Mail/Overnight Courier
The envelope bearing documents for filing and other requests for expedited processing services must be marked with the notation "Expedited Processing" on the envelope.
Processing Your Request
The time for processing your request begins when the request is received by the appropriate unit of the Division of Corporations. The time for processing your request ends when the request is processed by the appropriate unit of the Division of Corporations, not when your package is picked up by your overnight delivery service.
For documents submitted for filing, such documents are considered processed when they are either filed or rejected as deficient. The fee for expedited processing is charged to the filer regardless of whether or not the document is accepted for filing. Filing receipts will be mailed by first-class mail by the United States Postal Service two business days after the date of filing. Copies of documents and certificates of status are mailed by first-class mail by the United States Postal Service within the time frame of the expedited processing service requested. We do not provide these documents by fax. You may request that your receipt or other document be returned to you by overnight delivery service by enclosing a prepaid shipping label with your request. The Department of State will not accept prepaid shipping labels with the Department of State listed as the sender. The prepaid shipping label must list yourself as the sender and the receiver. Overnight delivery service providers pick up outgoing packages from the Division of Corporations prior to the end of our business day. In this case, your overnight package may not leave the Department of State until the following business day.
Deficient Documents
In the case of a deficient document submitted via mail with a check, money order or Credit Card/Debit Card Authorization Form, the Department of State will retain the fee for the expedited processing service requested. A letter noting the deficiencies will be sent to the filer within the time frame of the expedited processing requested. Please note that the letter noting the deficiencies will be returned by first-class mail by the United States Postal Service.
In the case of a deficient document submitted via fax with a Credit Card/Debit Card Authorization Form, your account will be debited the monies for the level of expedited processing requested. A letter noting the deficiencies will be faxed to the filer within the time frame of the expediting processing service requested. If, after several unsuccessful attempts, we are unable to contact the filer at the fax number provided, the letter noting the deficiencies will be returned by first-class mail by the United States Postal Service.
When resubmitting a corrected document for filing, if you desire to again have your document processed under the expedited processing service, an additional, non-refundable, expedited processing fee must be paid.
