Introduction to Code Enforcement Practices (2016)
Part 2 - Fire Safe Design
PREREQUISITES: COURSE 9A
The focus of this program is the basic principles of creating buildings that endure the effects of fire and allow occupants to escape safely. Fundamental concepts of the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, which establishes the minimum construction standards for all new buildings, will be introduced. How the Code balances the potential hazards of an occupancy with the benefits of fire-resistant construction and fire protection systems are demonstrated. This course is designed to provide 21 hours of classroom training, including a 1.5 hour final exam.
The Course 9B116 Workbook will be available on line in the near future.
