Electronic Fingerprinting

The following applicants have access to electronic fingerprinting through IdentoGO by MorphoTrust USA.

Security Guards Bail Enforcement Agents
Armored Car Carriers Coin Processors
Armored Car Guards Security or Fire Alarm Installers
Private Investigators Document Destruction Contractors
Watch Guard or Patrol Agencies  


All applicants must submit electronic fingerprints. Rolled fingerprints are not acceptable. You MUST visit a site in New York to complete the fingerprinting process. You should NOT schedule an appointment at a site outside of New York State.

Instructions for Electronic Fingerprinting:

1. Schedule an appointment with IdentoGO by MorphoTrust USA:
To schedule an appointment at a location near you, visit their website at www.identogo.com and select 'NY'
or call 1-877-472-6915. For scheduling purposes, you must utilize the required ORI number listed below:
Failure to use the correct license type and ORI number will result in additional fees.  *Please note that in the near future IdentoGo will be transitioning to the use of a Service code for each license type rather than an ORI number.  Please see list of services code that will be utilized for each license type when this functionality becomes available:

2. Bring one of the below listed forms of identification to your appointment:
Upon completion of the fingerprinting process, you will be given 2 copies of your receipt.

ID card issued by a federal, state, or local government agency or by a Territory of the United States

Commercial Driver's License issued by a State or outlying possession of the U.S.
Canadian Driver's License
Department of Defense Common Access Card
Employment Authorization Document that contains a photograph
Foreign Driver's License (Mexico and Canada only)
Foreign passport
Military Dependent's Identification Card
Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551)
U.S. Coastguard Merchant Mariner Card
U.S. Military Identification Card
U.S. Passport
U.S. Tribal or Bureau of Indian Affairs Identification Card (Enhanced Tribal Card Only)
U.S. Visa issued by the U.S. Department of Consular Affairs for travel to or within, or residence within, the United States
Uniformed Services Identification Card (Form DD-1172-2)

One payment for all relevant prints must be made at this time in the form of: check, money order or credit card payable to MorphoTrust USA.

Electronic Fingerprinting Fees:
(Vendor Fee is subject to change in January and July of each year.)

  • Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) fee: $75.00
  • FBI fee: $12.00(Only Security Guard License applicants must pay the FBI fee.)
  • Fingerprint Vendor fee: $12.00

3. Mail your license application and application fee to NYS Department of State:
Include your completed license application, the appropriate fees as listed on the application, and one copy of the receipt from IdentoGO by MorphoTrust USA as proof of fingerprinting. Mail to the address listed in the application.
Make checks or money orders payable to NYS Department of State.
The second copy of the fingerprinting receipt should be retained by your employer.

Please Note: Fingerprint receipts are valid for 5 months from the date of the fingerprinting. Please submit original application within 5 months from the date of fingerprinting. Failure to submit your application within this time period will require you to complete the fingerprint process again.
