Appraiser applicants who did not successfully complete the exam prior to January 1, 2015 must obtain a new 2015 admission notice prior to scheduling an exam.  In order to receive the admission notice, you must submit evidence of meeting the new 2015 criteria for the appropriate appraiser category in which you submitted your initial application.  Please return your old admission notice or a cover letter along with proof of the additional educational requirements and a new admission notice will be issued.  If you have failed the exam, please submit a Real Estate Appraiser Examination/Re-Examination application http://www.dos.ny.gov/forms/licensing/1776-a.pdf with proof of meeting the additional criteria.  The new criteria can be found at http://www.dos.ny.gov/licensing/re_appraiser/update2014.html

Effective January 1, 2015, Appraiser Assistant applicants are no longer eligible to take an exam for upgrade until they meet all qualifications and submit an application for that category.
