Secretary of State Cesar A. Perales will be joined by Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick and
Seneca County Officials to announce ribbon cutting and unveiling of key projects in
the Finger Lakes Region on August 3, 2012 at 10:00 AM

Ithaca, NY – On Friday August 3, at 10:00AM, Secretary of State Cesar A. Perales will be joined by Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick and officials from Seneca, Cayuga and Tompkins Counties to announce unveiling of two key projects:  A milestone completion of the Cayuga Waterfront Trail in Ithaca and the undertaking of the Cayuga Lake Blueway Trail Plan.

The Department of State awarded a Local Waterfront Revitalization Program grant to the City of Ithaca to construct a six-mile Cayuga Waterfront trail. The trail serves as a major recreational resource and also supports economic development.

Seneca County in partnership with Cayuga and Tompkins counties has begun preparation of the Cayuga Lake Blueway Trail funded by a Local Water Revitalization Program grant. The trail will strengthen the tourism economy by identifying shoreline access in all three counties of the lake.
