NYS Department of State and Madison County NY Rising Planning Committee to Host Open House
An open house will be held on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 6:30-8:30pm in Madison County to discuss the development of a Countywide Resiliency Strategy that will identify a range of resiliency actions that can be taken to better prepare for future storms. Part of the effort is to identify projects needed to continue recovery from the severe summer storms of 2013 to be funded with up to $3 million of allocated New York State capital funds slated for Madison County.
The open house will take place at SUNY Morrisville’s Bicknell Hall, Room 203, Chenango Road, Morrisville, NY. Representatives of the New York Department of State, along with members of the NY Rising project Planning Committee and local elected officials, will be on hand to discuss the program, schedule, components, and expected outcomes with the public.
The NY Rising Program is designed to empower communities affected by storms by creating and implementing locally created strategies for rebuilding, as well as to strengthen communities against future extreme weather events. The strategies will be based on the needs of the county and developed by the NY Rising Madison County Planning Committee, community leaders, experts and officials.
