NYS Department of State and Herkimer County NY Rising Planning Committee to Host Open House
An Open House will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 5:30 to 7:30pm in Herkimer County to discuss the development of a Countywide Resiliency Strategy that will identify a range of resiliency actions that can be taken to better prepare for future storms.
The open house will take place at Herkimer County Community College Robert McLaughlin College Center, 1000 Reservoir Rd in Herkimer.
The public will be encouraged to provide input on aspects of the County’s Resiliency Plan, and share their knowledge of:
Representatives of the Department of State, along with members of the Herkimer County Planning Committee and local elected officials, will be on hand to discuss the program, proposed resilience and recovery projects, resilience strategies, schedule, components, and expected outcomes with the public.
The NYRCR Program is designed to empower communities affected by storms to develop and implement locally created strategies for rebuilding and strengthening their communities against future extreme weather events. The strategies for Herkimer County have been developed by the Herkimer County NYRCR Planning Committee, community leaders, experts and officials.
