NYS Department of State and NY Rising Planning Committee to Host Meetings in Niagara County
The New York State Department of State will host public meetings on Tuesday, June 10 and Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in Niagara County to discuss the NY Rising Community Reconstruction Program (NYRCR Program) and the Niagara County NY Rising Countywide Resiliency Plan (NYRCR Plan) which is under development. The Draft NYRCR Plan identifies a range of resiliency strategies and actions for Niagara County that can be taken to better prepare for future storm events. Part of the effort identifies projects needed to continue recovery from the severe summer storms of 2013 to be funded with up to $3 million of allocated capital funds slated for Niagara County.
Meetings will be held to better inform the public about the NYRCR Program and the Niagara County NYRCR Plan:
Lockport City Hall, One Locks Plaza, Tuesday June 10th from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM
Niagara Falls Library Auditorium, 1425 Main Street, Wednesday, June 11th from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM
North Tonawanda City Hall, 216 Payne Avenue, Wednesday, June 11th from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Representatives of the Department of State, along with members of the Niagara County Planning Committee and local elected officials, will be on hand to discuss the proposed resilience and recovery projects, resilience strategies, schedule, components, and expected outcomes to the public.
